Key Takeaways From My Margex Review
Our Verdict
8.5/10
- 36 Perpetual Futures: Margex offers 36 perpetual futures markets, including BTC, DOGE, XRP, and BNB. Perpetuals enable Margex users to go long or short 24 hours per day.
- Low Margin Requirements: Margex is ideal for traders on a budget, and those looking to amplify their existing bankroll. The minimum margin requirement is 1%, meaning up to 100x leverage.
- Competitive Trading Commissions: Margex users pay just 0.019% per slide when entering limit orders. A slightly higher fee of 0.06% is levied when placing a market order. Either way, these fees compare well with other derivative platforms.
- KYC is Optional: My Margex review found that accounts only require an email address. This means KYC documents aren’t required. However, accounts without KYC can only be funded with crypto.
- Copy Trading: One of the best Margex features is its copy trading tool. Put simply, users can copy an experienced derivative trader at their preferred stake. Any future positions will be replicated like-for-like.

Margex Overview: What Is Margex?
Founded in 2019, Margex cryptocurrency trading platform is designed to provide a secure and user-friendly trading experience. Headquartered in Seychelles, the platform supports 30+ of the best cryptocurrencies and 45+ trading pairs, offering up to 100x leverage on perpetual futures contracts. Margex processes over 180,000 trades daily, with a 24-hour trading volume exceeding $2.1 billion.
Since its launch, Margex has expanded globally, now serving 500,000+ registered users across 153 countries. Its suite of features includes copy trading, crypto conversion, staking, price alerts, and an integrated wallet. While unregulated, Margex does not require KYC verification, appealing to privacy-focused traders. In 2022, the Comisión Nacional del Mercado de Valores issued a public warning that Margex was not authorized to offer investment services.
Despite all this, Margex has implemented strong security measures to ensure protection for its users and is trusted by over 500k registered users in 153 countries. The company aims to offer a secure, fair, and easy-to-use platform with the highest class of financial technologies worldwide.
Margex Services and Products
Margex offers a comprehensive suite of trading tools. The platform provides flexible trading options with strong security measures, from leveraged futures trading to staking and instant crypto conversions.
Margex also offers numerous learning materials, video tutorials, and blogs.
Below, we break down Margex’s key features and how they enhance the user experience.
Copy Trading
Margex’s Copy Trading feature is ideal for new investors as it mirrors the trade of successful investors, so they don’t have to get into chart patterns and technical analysis. The Margex copy trading feature also benefits experienced traders, enabling them to analyze some of the 100 top-performing traders offered on Margex and use the same techniques for their own strategies.
The copy trading feature offers 100+ vetted traders, and users can:
- Choose a trader from the leaderboard.
- Allocate capital to copy trades automatically.
- Monitor performance and adjust strategy.
While others do the hard work for you, you still keep control by deciding which strategies to follow, which risk management tools to use, and the amount of capital at stake.
Demo Trading
Margex has launched a demo trading facility. No account is required—which is certainly a smart move. After all, new customers can test Margex’s charting area without needing to complete any registration forms.
The demo account offers a realistic digital asset trading experience. This means all metrics—such as order books, prices, market depth, and volatility—mirror live market conditions. The demo account also offers unfettered access to the charting screen, including technical indicators.
Futures
Being one of the best crypto futures trading platforms, Margex provides a dynamic environment for futures trading, allowing users to engage with the market effectively while managing risk. The platform offers up to 100x leverage, enabling traders to amplify their positions with advanced risk management tools. Margex ensures seamless trading across various crypto pairs with a user-friendly interface and deep liquidity. Its AI-driven anti-manipulation system protects users from unfair market practices, enhancing trading transparency.
Key features include:
- Multiple trading pairs for BTC, ETH, and altcoins.
- Up to 100x leverage for perpetual futures contracts.
- Demo trading for risk-free practice.
- Advanced order types like Stop-Loss and Take-Profit.
- Numerous learning materials.
Steps to trade futures on Margex:
- Creating an account
- Depositing your trading funds
- Visiting the trade section and picking a trading pair
- Deciding whether to go short (sell) or long (buy)
- Choosing your leverage (5x–100x)
- Setting a stop-loss or taking a profit order
- Opening your position.
Users must manage margin requirements carefully, as high leverage can amplify gains and losses.
Margex Convert
Margex Convert allows users to instantly swap cryptocurrencies without incurring additional exchange fees, providing a seamless trading experience. This feature supports major assets such as Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Tether (USDT), and a selection of top altcoins like Litecoin (LTC), Solana (SOL), Tron (TRX), and Polygon (MATIC).
Key features include:
- Fast, near-instant execution for quick trades.
- Zero extra trading fees (only standard blockchain network fees apply).
- Conversion tracking under Wallet > Convert for full transparency.
- Flexible transaction limits between $10 and $30,000, making it accessible to retail traders and high-volume users.
Margex Convert enhances portfolio management by allowing users to rebalance holdings efficiently without using traditional trading pairs.
Staking
The Margex exchange provides staking of some of the top staking coins, including $USDT, $ETH, $DAI, and $USDC, with up to 5% APY. Participants can calculate their earnings with the help of Margex’s staking calculator, which shows the compound interest accrued with the initial principal and crypto interest rates. They can also monitor their income growth in real time.
Key features include:
- Built-in staking calculator to estimate potential earnings.
- Real-time APY tracking for better financial planning.
- No lock-up periods—users can stake and unstake freely.
- Compound interest accumulation for maximized returns.
Thanks to the MP Shield system, designed to prevent price manipulation and promote market stability, users can enjoy price protection against market manipulation. The added security makes staking safe for users. Additionally, Margex ensures that staked assets remain protected through cold storage security and risk management measures, making staking secure and rewarding.
Price Alerts
This is a great feature for busy traders, as they now don’t have to spend time looking at the screen waiting for a price to change but get a notification when it does. Specifically, this price alert sends a push notification to a user’s email, alerting them when price movements pass beyond a specific price threshold, like reaching a new weekly high or low.
Key features include:
- Customizable alerts for price changes, volume shifts, and gas fees.
- One-time or recurring notifications for ongoing tracking.
- Supports major cryptocurrencies like BTC, ETH, and altcoins.
- Flexible currency selection for exchange rate tracking.
This feature is particularly useful for swing traders managing multiple assets, allowing them to react quickly to price movements and adjust their strategies without manual monitoring.
Margex Wallet
Margex’s wallet provides traders with a flexible, efficient way to manage funds. It supports seamless deposits, trades, and settlements. Unlike traditional wallets, users can deposit any coin and trade nearly any pair without owning a specific asset. It is a great choice, as no KYC is required for account setup, making it one of the best anonymous crypto wallets for those who want to manage cryptocurrency anonymously.
Key Features Include:
- Multi-Collateral Trading: Deposit various cryptocurrencies and settle trades using their chosen collateral.
- User-Friendly Interface: Displays total balance, available funds, and reserved amounts for active orders or withdrawals.
- Comprehensive Transaction History: Logs all deposits, withdrawals, and bonus rebates in the Transaction History tab.
- Integrated Staking: Shows staked balances, APY, and reward history for passive income opportunities.
While Margex’s wallet efficiently manages trading funds and integrates staking, it is not a standalone non-custodial wallet like MetaMask or Trust Wallet. The minimum deposit requirement is $10.
An appealing alternative to Margex Wallet is Best Wallet, with features like governance, Upcoming Tokens section, and fiat-to-crypto conversions via partnerships with Alchemy Pay and MoonPay.
Margex Fees & Commissions
Like many other exchanges, including Kraken, Margex uses a maker/taker model.
- A trade fee incurs when there’s a trader’s order (when opening or closing a position)
- A funding or financing fee incurs when a position is carried into a new funding period.
Here’s an example of the trade fee:
Order Type
Description
Fee
Maker fee (limit orders)
charged when adding liquidity to the order book
0.019%
Taker fee (market orders)
charged when removing liquidity from the order book
0.060%
Funding (or financing) occurs whenever a position is held over into a new 8-hour funding period, specifically after 00:00, 08:00, and 16:00 UTC. There will be no charge if a position is closed before the next funding rollover. The Trade page shows the funding countdown timer. After the timer reaches 00:00, funding will be incurred for any open position, and a new funding period will start:
Position type
Estimated funding rate
Long positions
-0.12%
Short positions
-0.12%
While there are no Margex fees for deposits or withdrawals, it’s important to note that actual funding rates can vary, and blockchain miner fees do apply.
Withdrawal Speeds
Margex approves withdrawal requests once daily, between 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. (UTC). This will be a drawback for some users, as exchanges typically process withdrawals near-instantly.
Withdrawal Limits
Margex doesn’t state any withdrawal limits, which is a huge advantage – especially for professional traders. However, there are withdrawal minimums. These vary widely depending on the coin being withdrawn.
Supported Cryptocurrencies and Payment Methods
Margex has 32 cryptocurrencies, including newly released coins like the Trump coin and more established ones like Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, and BNB. The selection also includes some of the top meme coins, like Dogecoin.
Margex offers over 45 trading pairs, with the most popular ones being:
- BTC/USD
- ETH/USD
- SOL/USD
Margex has recently listed RLUSD stablecoin as collateral for trading crypto pairs, offering users enhanced flexibility and security.
Payment Methods
Margex doesn’t directly process fiat-to-crypto transactions. Instead, it integrates third-party providers like Changelly, Uniramp, and ChangeNOW, which handle these transactions through their widgets on the platform. These integrations allow users to purchase cryptocurrencies using various payment methods, including Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, UnionPay, and bank transfers. As a result, Margex has no control over payment processing, transaction status, or eligibility policies.
Margex Customer Service and User Experiences
Users can contact Margex through its dedicated 24/7 live chat support or by email at [email protected]. Our Margex review highlights that the live chat option is better, as response times are fast, with a three-minute standard waiting time.
Users should tap the chat icon on the Margex website or app. They will first be connected with a bot and will have to pick the account query, and then be added to the live chat queue.
Having tested every aspect of the Margex crypto exchange, we found the overall user experience positive. It took us less than a minute to register an account. We were only asked for an email address and a password. Margex sent an email with a unique code. This was required to verify the email address, and the account was then open and ready for funding.
We also found it seamless to deposit funds. Clicking on the ‘Wallet’ button offers two options; accounts can be funded with crypto or fiat money. Clicking the ‘Trade’ button reveals the Margex trading dashboard. Traders can choose the coin they want to trade from the left-hand portal. Customizing and analyzing pricing charts was also straightforward.
All aspects of the pricing chart are clearly marked, so it’s a great option for beginners who want to learn technical analysis. While we focused mainly on the desktop dashboard, we also tested the Margex mobile app. This also offers a great user experience. Although optimized for smaller screens, we had no issues navigating the platform.
Margex Availability
Margex is available globally through a browser and two mobile apps. We will now list the Margex countries (where the exchange is available) and the devices users can use.
Countries
Margex is available in 153 countries, and rather than listing all of them, we will just lay out the regions where the use of this exchange is restricted:
- the US
- the Republic of Seychelles
- Iran
- Crimea and Sevastopol
- North Korea
- Bermuda
- Canada
- the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China
- Syria
- Cuba
- Sudan
- Afghanistan
So we’ll have to keep waiting for better regulatory policies if we have any hope for a Margex USA. However, for Americans looking for a good crypto exchange, we recommend Coinbase.
Devices
Does Margex have a mobile app? Margex can be accessed through a browser, accessible on any device without installation, and two mobile apps. There are two apps since the copy-trading Margex app is a separate one. This is a slight drawback, as users have to open the trading app to place orders manually. They are both available for Android and iOS.
Downloading the apps is simple, and when users log in, they can see their account balance and start trading. There are no problems with order execution or latency speeds. Also, moving between markets and examining pricing charts is smooth, even on smaller smartphone devices.

Margex Security
We have discussed the fact that Margex operates as an unregulated platform, raising the question: ‘Is Margex safe?’ While we prefer regulated platforms, this does offer some advantages. For instance, accounts can be opened without KYC, and high leverage levels are available to all users. This typically isn’t possible when using a regulated exchange, especially at 100x leverage.
The platform uses several layers of protection to ensure the safety of its users’ personal information and their funds.
- User account security layer: 2FA, SSL encryption, email confirmations, email notifications/alerts, data encryption, password reset&recovery
- Custodian security layer: real-time monitoring and alerts, a multi-signature offline cold storage, access segregation system for employee fraud prevention
- Trading infrastructure security level: DDOS protection system, elastic server infrastructure, trading anti-denial service protection
- Price manipulation and fraud prevention: MP Shield System, liquidity pooling system, price squeezing protection system
Margex Pros & Cons
Here are all the pros and cons I discovered during my Margex review process.
The main advantages of using Margex are access to high-leverage limits, short-selling facilities, and rock-bottom commissions. Not to mention copy trading features, advanced analysis tools, and the ability to trade anonymously.
However, some disadvantages should also be considered. Withdrawal requests are only processed once per day, and U.S. clients aren’t allowed to use the platform. Moreover, Margex doesn’t currently offer spot trading markets (coming soon), so you can’t own crypto coins directly—rather just bet on the price of crypto going up or down.
Let’s summarize Margex’s pros and cons:

Margex Alternatives
We’ve evaluated two other established crypto exchanges and compared the Binance review and Coinbase review to Margex. Our findings indicate that Margex sets itself apart by offering multiple layers of security and more responsive and effective customer support. Regarding fees, Binance still outperforms the other two, while they all share similar features. Yet, Margex operates in fewer countries than the other two and is also banned in the US.
